Netball Connect FAQs

Netball Connect participant FAQs can be found here if you require assistance.

Alternatively, please contact our Registrar, Jennifer Bissett with any questions in relation to your registration.  (Please note, our club is run by volunteers and the pre-season registration period is incredibly busy so it may take us a few days to respond to your query).

Please ensure that you have registered before 1 February to assist us to organise our pre-season grading days.  Pine Hills Netball Club will be grading all competitive players with the exception of our Opens teams over two Saturdays – 3 February and 10 February.  Further information about grading days will be available in early 2024 and our full 2024 season calendar can be found here.

Registration categories

Non-Competitive (7 - 10 years)

Players turning 8, 9 and 10 years (in 2024) play in the Non-Competitive fixtures. Players turning 7 (born 01 Jan-30 June 2017) AND in Grade 2 at school, are eligible to play in the Non-Competitive 7/8/9yrs division. These are modified rules games played at Downey Park on Saturday mornings.  Players wear Pine Hills uniforms and train during the week just like our competitive teams do.  The Non-Competitive competition is a fantastic way for your child to become familiar with the sport of netball and get used to playing games in a team environment.

Please note, children born between 01 July and 31 Dec 2017 are NOT eligible for the Non-Competitive Fixtures in 2024 but will be eligible in 2025. Pine Hills Netball Club run a NetSetGo program for our youngest players in Term 4 each year which is ideal for any player who is interested in starting in the Non-Competitive teams the following year, or for existing Non-Competitive players who want to enhance their skills and play more netball with their friends during Summer.

If you would like more information about our Term 4 NetSetGo program, please send an email to our NetSetGo Registrar, Susan Hird.

Competitive Juniors (11 - 13 years)

Players turning 11, 12 or 13 in 2024 play in our Competitive teams, playing full netball rules.  Players in our competitive teams must attend our two pre-season grading days on 3 and 10 February to be placed in the most appropriate team for the season ahead.  For more information on our grading days, please refer to our Grading Policy.

In 2024, Downey Park Netball Association will also hold a mini pre-season grading carnival for 10s,11s and Cadets teams.  Dates for this carnival can be found on our Calendar page.

Cadets (14 - 15 years) and Inters (16 - 19 years)

Players turning 14 or 15 years in 2024 play in one of our Competitive Cadets teams and those turning 16, 17, 18 or 19 years play in one of our Inters teams.  Cadets and Inters players must also attend our two pre-season grading days on 3 and 10 February to be placed in the most appropriate team for the season ahead.  For more information on our grading days, please refer to our Grading Policy.

In 2024, Downey Park Netball Association will also hold a mini pre-season grading carnival for Cadets teams.  Dates for this carnival can be found on our Calendar  page.

Opens (16 years and over)

Players turning 16 years or older in 2024 are eligible to play in the Opens division although Opens players are more commonly those over 18 years of age.  Our Opens players are required to attend an evening grading session in February and that date will be available soon via our Calendar page. For more information on our grading days, please refer to our Grading Policy.
