Pine Hills Netball Club was established in 1978. We aim to foster, develop and promote the game of netball. The Club has a strong reputation in the community as one that values good sportsmanship and develops friendships within the sport. We encourage all our players to enjoy their netball by promoting self confidence and personal achievement.

We focus on the winter season at Downey Park netball courts at Windsor on Saturdays. We train at the James Drysdale Reserve on the Jinker Track, Bunya.

Our players come from all over the surrounding area including: Albany Creek to Upper Kedron. We have players ranging in age from 7 years old (4 years in our 'NetSetGo' program) to those in the Open divisions.

Our website is regularly updated for news, upcoming events and details on any wet weather cancellations, follow us on Facebook to receive updates as they happen.

DPNA Winter 2020 Fixtures - Cancelled

Please find below a transcript of the email sent to members on 23/3/2020 following advice from DPNA that fixtures would be cancelled for the Winter 2020 season.

To the Pine Hills Netball Club Family,

As many of you would have seen, Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) have advised today in the light of the escalating situation with regard to COVID-19, they have taken the decision to cancel winter fixtures for 2020. (A copy of the DPNA communication is provided here: DPNA 2020 Fixtures Update_23.03.20.pdf)

Whilst this comes as a disappointment to all of us, I would like to say at the outset that this decision has my full support. I know it was not easy for Michelle Prado and the DPNA executive to come to this decision, but they have done so based on the information available and what they feel is in the best interest of players, clubs and families.

So, what happens now?

In relation to your membership fees, it comprises 3 components - Netball Queensland (NQ), DPNA and Pine Hills Netball Club (PHNC). In relation to each:

  • DPNA have committed to refunding the full amount of the DPNA component and in doing so will bear the costs already incurred and committed for the 2020 season.
  • PHNC will, similarly, refund the full amount of the PHNC portion of the fees.
  • As per the DPNA notice, NQ have not yet provided advice in relation to their component and what refund will be offered.  I note that that for NetSetGo that the portion of the fees attributable to the Starter Packs is non-refundable. Once we have further advice to hand in relation to this portion of the fees, we will provide this to members.

As a club, our intention at this time is once DPNA has processed their refund to us we will refund the DPNA and PHNC amounts back to members.  Once we are at that point, we will be progressively in contact to confirm bank details with you to enable this to occur.

We are unable to take returns on uniforms but hopefully they will get some use later in the year if restrictions are lifted and DPNA are able to run carnivals or other short competition format.  In relation to other clothing orders that have not been fulfilled, we will be in contact with those members in due course.

In sincerely hope that we are able to play netball in some form this year.  In the meantime please take care of yourselves and your families.

Best wishes

Duncan  Richards
